T616 GPRS Love
Thu, Sep 9, 2004This is my second mac (12" pb, before it I owned a 12" ibook 500). With both laptop's I've done a bit for travel. When I'm on the road its nice to be able to connect to the world. When I had sprint I used a usb cable to connect to the phone, and the pre-made modem profile which apple provided for Sprint (and Verizon aparently). Now that I'm on a GSM based network ATT/Cingular, I need to follow some extra steps. While it is quite nice to connect wirelessly to the net via my phone, its not plug and play.
If you own a mac, and a bluetooth phone I would suggest getting Salling Clicker. It's great for presentations, and I love having my music paused when someone calls. It will also auto-connect, and auto-start address book when someone calls, so that the caller's name is displayed if possible. Lets not forget the automatic address book synchronization. Though with my T616 contact images are not synchronized, which kind of sucks. If your not up for spending money there is a free alternative, although not as feature rich, called Romeo.
